The InterContinental Hotels Group (in partnership with Chase) that gives Rewards Club members the chance to enhance their rewards at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn & Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.
The card offers 5 points per dollar when used at any of the InterContinental Hotels Group properties, 2 points per dollar at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants, and 1 point per dollar everywhere else.
In addition, you get:
- 60,000 bonus points if you use the card to spend at least $1000 in the first 3 months you have it.
- 1 free night at an InterContinental hotel annually.
- a 10% points rebate when you actually redeem some of your points.
While the card has no annual fee the first year, a yearly $49 fee kicks in after that, so be sure to factor that in when determining if the card is a good fit for you.
The card offers an interest rate of as low as 16.24%, but you could also be approved at a rate as high as 23.24%, so be sure not to carry a balance on this card, or you’ll cancel out some or all of your rewards.
Overall, the IHG Rewards Club credit card is a nice way to boost your rewards if you already regularly stay at IHG hotels, but there’s no good reason to get it if you aren’t already earning points via stays at IHG hotels.
