Regional department store chain Carson Pirie Scott, in partnership with Comenity Bank, that allows you to earn reward points toward future Carson’s purchases. Our overview / review of the Carson Pirie Scott credit card is below:
The Carson Pirie Scott credit card is accepted at Carson’s as well as its sister stores throughout the country: Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers. This is a fairly limited usage, so you should ask yourself if you shop at Carson’s often enough for it to be worth opening up another credit line.
It could be. The Carson’s credit card offers:
- A $20 rewards card for every $200 spent with the card within a calendar year. You can use the $20 card toward purchases of $50 or more. (You can also collect multiple rewards cards and use them together at the same time for larger purchases.)
- Chances to double your rewards based on special monthly offers.
- A birthday discount each year
- Other card-only discount offers throughout the year.
It all sounds good, and mostly it is — provided you ALWAYS pay off your complete credit card balance each month. Because, if you don’t, you will pay a very high interest rate on those purchases — 24.99%, one of the highest interest rates on the market. Simply put, any rewards you receive from this card will be canceled out by the interest you pay if you carry a balance. So don’t do it!
You can not apply for the Carson Pirie Scott online. You’ll have to visit a Carson’s store to fill out an application.
