Gander Mountain outdoor stores, in partnership with Comenity Bank, that allow you to earn points toward future Gander Mountain purchases. Our overview / review of the cards is below:
The Gander Mountain credit card is a MasterCard, which means you can use it at Gander Mountain as well as anywhere else MasterCard is accepted. This is a point in its favor — many retail credit cards are accepted only at that single chain, while this card can be used widely. If you’re going to open a new credit line, it’s best to go for cards you can use at multiple retailers.
The Gander Mountain MasterCard offers the following points formula:
- 3 points per dollar on purchases at Gander Mountain and their sister store Overton’s (You can earn 5 points on these purchases if you buy over $10,000 with the card in a year.)
- 2 points per dollar on gas and grocery purchases
- 1 point per dollar on all other purchases.
Every time you reach 2,000 points, you get a $20 Reward Certificate to use toward future Gander Mountain purchases.
If you use the card for at least $500 in purchases within 90 days (including at least one purchase NOT at Gander Mountain), you’ll get a $60 reward certificate as a bonus.
The Gander Mountain credit card has no fee, and the interest rate could be 16.99%, 20.99%, or 24.99%, depending on your credit history. The 16.99% rate is not terrible, but the 20+% rates are terrible, so if you get approved at a high rate, be sure you never carry a balance on this card. The interest paid will essentially cancel out any rewards you receive.
