Superstore chain Meijer that allow you to buy now and pay later, and, if you’re credit is good enough, you can earn some nice rewards. See our overview / review below for a better understanding of just what that means:
Meijer credit cards are issued by Comenity Bank, and when you apply, you are giving Comenity Bank your approval to check your credit and decide which of the Meijer credit cards you qualify for.
If your credit is good enough, you will qualify for…
- The Meijer Platinum MasterCard, which can be used at Meijer and anywhere else that MasterCard is accepted. You get 1 reward point for each dollar spent with the card, and every time you reach 1500 points you get 2 coupons: 1 coupon for 15% off general merchandise and apparel at Meijer in a single visit, and 1 coupon for 5% off groceries as well as health & beauty products in a single visit. In addition, you will receive 5 cents off per gallon of Meijer gas when you use this card to pay. The interest rate on the Meijer MasterCard is either 19.99% or 23.99%, depending on your credit history. (Neither interest rate is very good; don’t carry a balance on this card or the interest you pay will essentially cancel out the discounts you receive.)
If your credit is not so good, you might only qualify for…
- The Meijer Store Credit Card, which can only be used at Meijer stores, offers no rewards, and has the 23.99% interest rate.
Obviously the Meijer store credit card is less desirable — but you won’t know which card you qualify for until you apply. If you think your credit really stinks and you think you won’t qualify for the MasterCard, we say steer clear of Meijer credit cards. On the other hand, if you know your credit is fairly decent, the Meijer MasterCard has a pretty nice reward formula.
It’s up to you, but at least now you know what you’re getting into. To apply for the Meijer credit card, use .
