  • The has a much higher $475 annual fee, and different rewards that we find not necessarily better than the card above. You’ll earn American Express Membership Rewards points on every purchase: 5 points per dollar on non-loan-related Mercedes-Benz purchases, and 1 point per dollar everywhere else. (No additional points for gas or restaurant purchases like the card above.) You do get bigger potential upfront bonuses, including 50,000 bonus points if you spend $3000 with the card in the first 3 months you have it. In addition there is the potential for Mercedes rewards such as $1000 toward a new Mercedes purchase or lease, a 2000-mile lease mileage waiver, and a $100 Mercedes accessories certificate on your card renewal date. You also get other Amex Platinum rewards, such as free access to airport lounges worldwide. Frankly we don’t see this card as being worth the cost unless you really want the travel benefits. You can and get full details here.
