travelocity-credit-cardNOTE: This card is no longer available. See our Travel Credit Cards page for related card options.

Online travel booking site Travelocity offers that allows you to earn points that can be redeemed toward future Travelocity purchases. Here’s what it offers:

  • 3 points per dollar on purchases you make with the card at Travelocity.com
  • 1 point per dollar on all other purchases

In addition, you can earn bonus points as a new cardholder:

  • You get 5,000 points after you use the card for the first time.
  • You get another 5,000 points if you use the card to spend at least $1000 in the first 90 days that you have it.

Points are used like cash to offset Travelocity purchases in the future, with each point being worth a penny in most cases — for example, 10,000 points = $100 off your Travelocity purchase. (However, 20,000 points can offset $400 in purchases, so if you’re willing to save up, your points will be worth much more.) You can also use points toward gift cards or merchandise rewards unrelated to travel purchases.

The interest rate on the Travelocity American Express may be as low as 14.99% for those with good credit histories, but you could also get approved at a much higher 21.99% or 24.99% rate, so be careful. The card has no annual fee.

The Travelocity credit card is issued by Barclays Bank. You’ll find .
